Desi Fernández has significant experience in public relations, policy, and corporate legal practice. He has a proven track record of maintaining high-level accounts for top tier firms across the country. Desi gained his public relations and corporate transactional experience during his tenure at Ruder Finn, a top-tier public relations firm. He provided consulting expertise to the Brazilian and Colombian governments on foreign direct investment initiatives in China. He worked closely with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) to strategically attract foreign direct investment in Brazil during World Expo in Shanghai. Desi has experience working with media based in China, Latin America, USA, Portugal, and Spain to promote the interests of Chinese, Brazilian, Columbian, and multinational companies and stakeholders.

Desi started his legal career as a corporate and M&A lawyer at the New York office of Troutman Sanders LLP. He assisted the Corporate Practice Group with corporate securities law. He advised issuers in private placement deals regarding Regulation D and compliance concerns. Desi researched, advised, and prepared information related to American subsidiaries in Mexico for potential acquisitions.

He is a graduate of Cornell Law School and holds a Master of Laws in International Legal Practice from IE Business School in Madrid. He received his undergraduate degree from The Catholic University of America in World Politics and Spanish for International Service. Desi has native proficiency in English and Spanish, is fluent in French, and has professional proficiency in Portuguese.
